Biography

Born and raised in Europe, Katharina McKee has lived and worked in Germany, Belgium, England and Ireland. Influenced from an early age by her father, she developed a deep appreciation for painting as a language beyond words. From her atelier near Hannover, McKee explores the emotional depth of color, form, and atmosphere — creating works that merge memory, silence, and expression.

In her practice, Katharina McKee seeks to express what words cannot hold. Through layered brushwork and a restrained yet emotive palette, her paintings explore inner landscapes of reflection and resilience. Her work captures fleeting states of emotion — where memory meets abstraction, and where art begins to speak when language falls silent.
